Re: Anyone know the exact air dates of the following? |
Most of the shows, I've never heard of before, so I'm afraid I can't help much, but this is what I've found so far:
"Opera Cameos" title unknown, possibly "La Traviata" - Feb. 25, 1951
"Opera Cameos" title unknown, possibly "Tosca, Act II" - Dec. 30, 1951 (?, could be date for "Tosca, Acts I and III")
"Opera Cameos" title unknown, possibly "Cavalleria Rusticana" - Dec. 16, 1951
"Charlie Wild, Private Dectective" - episode title "The Case of the Barber's Daughter" - Mar. 27, 1952
"Charlie Wild, Private Detective" - episode title "The Case of the Cut-Rate Casanova" - Jun. 5, 1952
"Rocky King Detective" episode title: "Death Has Dark Hands" - Oct. 19, 1952
"Rocky King Dectective" - episode title "Murder by Natural Death" - Nov. 2, 1952
"They Stand Accused" - episode title "The Johnny Roberts Story" - Dec. 23, 1954

Maybe a review on the "La Traviata" episode in Billboard Magazine (Mar. 3, 1951,page 6) will answer some of your questions. I try and post a link and hope it comes out alright.

Re: Anyone know the exact air dates of the following? |
Interesting...I presume to the episode I saw listed was a different one from a differnt date and that the show switched station/network during 1953, as Paley Center for Media listed the network as "DuMont", while WPIX was an Independent station at the time...and the chances of the local version ever being kinescoped are slim. I do wonder, if the DuMont version was as bad as the WPIX version.
I didn't even know there was a WPIX version!
( probably should have included more info in the original post....sorry)
